They allow any man, mostly boys to sign up and risk their lives to walk for the USA and what they believe in. But why walking? This movie is an allegory for the war and what it could've created, a fascist America. The game is played by walking at a certain pace, fall below it and you get a warning, get three and you get your “ticket” in front of the millions of Americans watching. With no bathroom breaks, no spot to eat your rations, and no way to stop, you walk until there's one left. But is the one person left standing really winning?
